Former Romanian footballer Daniel Prodan collapsed at home in Romania on Wednesday night and his wife had called for emergency immediately.
Ambulance arrived 14 minutes later but the the doctor was not able to revive him. He was 44 years old.
Prodan had played for Romania for 54 times including the 1994 World Cup and 1996 UEFA European Championship. He retired in 2003 at the age of 31.
