44-year-old Magistrate Dr. Cheung Kwan-Ming was found unconscious by his mother at home in Cheung Sha Wan yesterday morning and died later. The Judiciary announced his death in a midnight press release.
Dr. Cheung got his Bachelor's Degree in Law at the City University of Hong Kong in the mid-90s and Master's Degree in Law at the University of Hong Kong in 2004. He obtained his qualification as Barrister in 1996 and was appointed Magistrate by the Judiciary in 2009.
Some of his recent cases include: mainland tourist being beaten to death by Hong Kong tour guide in Hung Hom jewellery shop; student activist Joshua Wong Chi-Fung attacked by 2 men with raw eggs; etc.
