This morning, a woman hiking on Lantau Island discovered a 57-year-old man lying unconscious on the ground with a mountain bike beside him. She immediately reported the incident. Rescue personnel rushed to the scene, and a Government Flying Service helicopter was dispatched to assist. The unconscious man was airlifted to Eastern District Hospital for emergency treatment, where an automated chest compression machine was used to perform CPR.
By noon, the man was pronounced dead. After investigation, the police believe he accidentally fainted and passed away while carrying his bike uphill.
