In Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre, a 28-year-old male remand inmate collapsed and was sent to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. The inmate was remanded for criminal intimidation and suffered from mental illness. He was being observed at the hospital when he was found unconscious on a bed in the ward. Despite emergency measures and being sent to the hospital for treatment, he passed away at 8:31 am.
