A research from St George's, University of London has discovered that football players have higher chance to be suffered from SCA than they expected. There were 7 players were dead from SCA in 100 thousand players, which more than their expectation about 2 in 100 thousand players. Sanjay Sharma, a cardiologist in St George's, University of London, has noticed that this problem should be considered.
Professional athletes have higher cardiac workload, which may lead to stimulation of cardiac disease. The adrenaline, electrolyte disturbance, dehydration etc may also increase the risk of SCA.
There were 8 players dead during the research and 6 of them have suffered cardiac disease.
